MTB Trails from Glengarry, KambergMTB CyclingA good level of fitness is required for most rides from Glengarry - the ups and downs are challenging. Our 17 km beginners ride takes you up the dirt road towards Highmoor Reserve then cuts along the access route for Sam subdivisions. You cross the Little Mooi River initially by bridge and later on two occasions through a causeway - look out in summer! This route meanders through farmlands and has a great tar downhill taking you back to Glengarry.
The intermediate level ride takes you through neighbouring timber plantation on single track with great views of the Kamberg Valley farmlands and the mighty Drakensberg itself. This route twists and turns up and down and finally a rough steep downhill back to the Kamberg Tar road.
Our hardest route goes up through goat country on the Kamberg Mountain slopes then the inevitable downhills past trout dams bring you back to Glengarry.
Revell Sivright, the owner is one of those nutters who, in May 1999 rode 270 kms nonstop across Lesotho from Mononatsa Pass to Sani Pass. He is always keen to take Glengarry guests cycling around the Kamberg. |
